::A Tara McMullen Wedding Workshop: Day 1::

Great photography workshops in Toronto are few and far between. It seems like our American neighbours get all the fun. They have access to awesome retailers, the best junk food and rock-star photographer workshops. Not sure what I mean? Last week, Jasmine Star shot and taught live at a real wedding in Seattle.

But we have it pretty good in Toronto right now, because the fabulous Tara McMullen taught a creatively intense 2-day workshop earlier this week. And it was organized by one of my favourite labs, Pikto in the Distillery District.

I try and attend a few workshops each year. Refining your craft is important. Tara taught me new ways to look at things both with and without my camera. Tara, you are extremely talented and incredibly open to teach others your craft.

{Day One: E-Session with Lauren + Mark}

Since the weather in Toronto has been nothing less than cool this summer, we went outside to shoot. The early afternoon light was strong and it was blistering hot. Lauren and Mark endured temperatures of at least 40°C and fields of goldenrod to give us these amazing shots. Tara helped set many of the shots up, but let us loose to create our own looks.

Lauren is absolutely stunning even in melting conditions.

And the whole time she wore these killer killer shoes!

Thanks for being so incredibly cooperative and enduring the extreme heat wave.

Next week is {Day Two} of Tara’s workshop. It just keeps getting better.
