Kelly and Mike:: A Windermere Wedding in Muskoka

Kelly and Mike were married on one of the perfect summery Muskoka days in August.   But before we get to their day, they have one of the sweetest stories of meeting that I simply must put it into words here.  I’ll do my best to tell the story, but if you can try to remember these elements: two moms, a rugby player, a dragon boat, Vancouver, Auckland and of course, friends.

Being set up by Kelly’s mom’s friend Barb, whose son is Aaron (who used to play on the National Team in Victoria) was Mike’s best friend.  After a year or so of moving to Vancouver, Kelly’s mom Beth and Aaron’s mom Barb were busy lunching together and plotting their setup, even though Mike was studying in Auckland and frequently returning to Vancouver.  During this time,  Mike with enough courage sent the sweetest email to Kelly about getting together for lunch, and with a mild heads-up, Kelly accepted.  They exchanged numerous emails and Mike mentioned that he had seen Kelly on that Dragon Boat before, when he was visiting his mom in Port Credit. Their first date, turned into a second, and a third and well after several dates, long distance relationships, visits to Auckland — Mike proposed to Kelly during a sunset in beautiful Tofino!

Their day was nothing short of perfect. Gorgeous Muskoka weather, friends and family travelled across the world to join them in their celebrations at Windermere House.  Kelly’s style is so graceful and elegant.  Her attention to beautiful details was stunning and a theme found in so many elements of their day.

Kelly and Mike, thank you so much for having me capture this day and all the very best for your new lives together in Auckland!

Thanks to Tami who helped photograph the boys and her wonderful assistance throughout the day.

Kelly was so relaxed, even catching up with celebrity gossip!

Kelly was a simply stunning bride.

Best Father and Daughter dance.  So much fun, and Kelly was gorgeously twirling her dress to big band.

Congrats again!  What an amazing and beautiful summery evening in Muskoka!
