A Cottage Elopement: One Frame

Wedding season is in full swing and I have been a little neglectful in posting here!  Recently, I photographed a beautiful elopement at a private cottage in Haliburton, Ontario.  The couple had a perfect day, with blue skies and a slight breeze on the dock.  Lisa Collins of Sweet Woodruff  designed this gorgeous cottage-inspired bouquet.    Watch the blog for more of this gorgeous elopment in the next few weeks!  Until then, one sweet little frame:)

…but for more sneak peeks, Facebook fans can catch a few more frames!

Michael Kormos - That is great, makes me want to see more!

Jaime and Anthony:: Engaged!

Jaime and Anthony are such a sweet couple to photograph.   I met them through their friends Courtney and Ryan (who were married last year).  During our initial get together, they told me how they met while Jaime was working in London, England.   We chatted about their time there (both work and play), their wedding and honeymoon plans to Costa Rica this fall.  We also chatted about the same beautiful neighbourhoods that we lived in Toronto.

When shooting their engagement session at The Evergreen Brickworks recently, we had a perfect summer evening of even light.   Even if it’s blazing hot out with a bight bright sun, this location offers so much variety!   We wandered around and hiked quite a bit, but it was completely worth it.  Jaime and Anthony are such a warm and fun couple, and who love a great glass of red.  My kind of couple!   Their wedding at Cave Springs and Inn on the Twenty this fall is going to be beyond beautiful.  I’m thrilled to be part of their day!

And lastly, their lovely dog Fynn a Vizsla (a Hungarian Pointer), joined us towards the end for some great photographs.

Gorgeous!  I honestly didn’t do anything to her eyes.  Completely natural!

If you know me well, I love a few extra bling and detail shots!  Here is a little sneak peek at their invitation. Inspired by their winery wedding and brought to life by Lesli Ink.  Love her work!

This was my first time with a Vizla and learning about their breed.  I can see why they love him so much!  He’s very loyal, gentle and highly affectionate, especially to both Jaime and Anthony.  I love that their breed is often referred to as  “velcro” dogs because of their close bond they form with their owners, including children.   And did I mention how fast he can run?!

Fynn even posed for a few frames.  Luckily he saw the rabbit after this was taken!

Looking forward to your wedding you two!!  See you ::very:: soon!

Jennifer and Rui:: Married!

I have been looking forward to Jennifer and Rui’s wedding for a long time, especially after their beautiful early fall engagement session along the Lakeshore in Oakville.  Jennifer and Rui are an amazing and kind couple.  You can feel their down to earth love and commitment to each other right away.  Their day was nothing short of perfect. A warm Saturday in May, beautiful light and complete with a stunning bride Jennifer.  I am really excited and honoured to share their wedding with you, which took place at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, just west of Toronto.

Friends and family traveled near and far, including Jennifer’s best friend who endured a 16-hour flight from Saudi Arabia to Toronto.  Looking through their images, I teared up so many times of all the emotion and true beauty we  captured.  It was such a great day from their First Look in the garden to their First Dance as newlyweds.

Jennifer and her bridal party had their hair and makeup done at Civello.  Florals designed by the lovely Lisa Collins of Sweet Woodruff.  Lisa provided Jennifer’s beautiful bouquets for her engagement session in the fall, and completely blew us away with her floral designs on this day.  I was absolutely crazy for how beautiful Jennifer looked.  Her dress, her hair and her smile.

A dear and sweet thank you to Corina Van Sluytman for helping me out on such a wonderful day.

Handsome lineup of the men.

I have no words for how beautiful these next photos are.

My favourite First Look moments!

Rui has great taste!

Jennifer’s bouquet was designed with white ranunculus, full white peonies (swooooon), lavender spray roses and dusty miller.

Jennifer’s dad was so sweet and didn’t want to give away his precious daughter.

After the cereomy, it was time for some lovely garden inspired family photos.  I don’t normally post family photos, but these were just simply too gorgeous not to share!

St. George’s has such exquisite architecture!  Built in 1929, it was designed “to reflect a little bit of England” with a great tower and filled with ivy.  We were treated with the prettiest afternoon light filtering through, which made a gorgeous location for their photographs.

Corina grabbed some great detail shots of the food and wine!

A sweet serenade to the new couple.

Just as the sun was starting to set, we whisked the newlyweds out for a quick romantic, glowy session.  I just love these!!  What a treat to have such an amazing light!

And lastly, a very touching moment when Jennifer danced with her dad to Unforgettable.

This wedding was incredibly beautiful.  From the start of their day, to now finishing these images and prepparing this post, I’ve lost track of the times I’ve teared up.  A heartfelt congratulations again to you both.  May your days be filled with beauty as you start your new lives together.  Thank you times a million for having me capture your wedding!
