A Mid Winter Escape: Toronto to Bavaro Beach Lifestyle Photography

I’m finally getting caught up on my blog posts and decided to work backwards.  From summer to fall, since there are so many I have yet to share!   I thought I would start warm, because we certainly need it these days.

Earlier in February, we travelled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a much needed vacation.  We had such an incredible time playing along Bavaro Beach and enjoying some down time.  I’m not sure what Ben loved more, the flight from YYZ or the huge resort with multiple pools, slides, the pirate ship and of course the perfect white sandy beach.   It was truly one of the best beaches we’ve been to.  The sand was softer than powder and completely unbelievable!  Here are some of my favourites from our turquoise and colour filled vacation.

Hey spring, if you’re reading this in Toronto.. Just where are you?

They even had a kids bar.  Two Banana Mamas please!

The water was truly this beautiful turquoise colour.  I wanted to bottle it up and bring it home.  Barely any editing was needed for these photos.  It’s so easy to photograph when the light is amazing.

Thanks to my hubs for taking this photo of us below.   Hehehe, I can now say that I was officially 3 months pregnant in this photo!  Sneaky, huh?  Little Elliott was born in August and here are some early photos at home
Now  I really miss the sand and walking with my favourite blonde guys.  Summer will be here soon, right?

Pink or Blue:: A Fun Way to Celebrate

We sure love the idea of a gender reveal party!  Oh how much fun are these to capture?   When I was pregnant with Benjamin exactly four years ago, we didn’t have these options in Toronto.  Fast forward to 2013, they are popping up everywhere!  From a quiet coffee shop inspired reveal while sharing either a pink or blue cupcake, to opening a box of coloured balloons in a golden field on a summer night, or incorporating the little surprises into your baby shower.  Remember to ask the technician at your anatomy ultrasound (usually between 18-20 weeks) that you’re not wanting to find out right away; but they should write down the gender on a piece of paper, and place inside a sealed envelope.  The trick is to keep it closed!  Put it away, hide it far (but don’t lose it) and somewhere you won’t be tempted to sneak a peek!  Then hand it to your best friend the cake designer, your party planner or the store clerk when you’re ordering that big box of coloured specific balloons!  Tell them it’s for your gender reveal party!

Here are some of my favourites I recently collected via Pinterest.  Enjoy!

Daniel Camer - Hey!

I am loving the destination photos, looks fantastic and fresh!! Myself being a photographer in Toronto, I have always wanted to shoot a destination shoot that wasn’t simply pleasure.

Nothing better than being paid to go to a beautiful place, right?

Do you take stock photographs while you’re on location?

Cheers,
Daniel Camer

Danielle - Mary – I saw one where the big brother releases the balloons with the parents kissing in the background. It’s so cute!

Toronto:: Winter Wonderland Creative Shoot

Ohhhh this shoot…  How lovely was it to collaborate finally with our friends Evonne & Darren of U Me Us Studios based in San Francisco.  We’ve wanted to work together for a while in some sort of capacity  but our schedules didn’t quite match up.  In August they mentioned they were coming to Toronto in November and wanted to do a creative shoot.  I knew exactly who I wanted to help take our vision to reality and produce this beauty, it was Eph*ra Design.  They immediately agreed and jumped on board with ideas and vendors.  I can’t begin to describe how great this shoot was because of everyone’s hard work.   And what a day it was working with the fantastic Dawn & Alanna who are indeed, superwomen.   These ladies blew us away with their resources, talent and just overall awesomeness of bringing everyone together.  I’m still speechless when I go through these photos of how many details they brought out and the ability to style them perfectly.  Including having a mobile coffee truck on set too!

I’m so over-the-moon with how hard everyone worked.   Although we had a few hiccups to deal with including a cold, windy and sudden rainy November day everyone made it stunning.  But you would never know the weather was oh so November, because of how beautiful it was styled and well photographed this shoot was.

To each of you ladies and gents, thank you so much for your incredible hard work.  It was wonderful to meet and work with each one of you.  Congratulations on creating such a gorgeous shoot!

Enjoy the photos.
