The Other Side::

I inadvertently slipped into that category.  Not by fault, but by just how life was whizzing by.  The last time we had any beautiful photos was our wedding in Hawaii in May, 2008.  Fast forward to 2012 with so much that happened in our personal lives, I was determined to find a way to get beautiful photos of all of us;  no matter how hectic life had become.  Even if the photos were fun, wild and busy. It was ours.

I’m so glad we did this and I’m so glad I reached out to the gorgeous and seriously talented Beth Kaye.

Although Beth photographs the prettiest and stylish engagements and weddings I’ve seen recently, earlier this year I asked if she would photograph my family.  I had no expectations really; and that’s the best way to go into a shoot especially with our very active 3-year old.   Last week, Beth amazed me from what she captured of us.  These are just the previews too.

I am so fortunate for these moments and to be completely honest;  I’m having a hard time describing how much they mean to me.  To be so appreciative that I love them yesterday, right now and tomorrow is merely just the beginning.

This says everything about us right now.  Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Beth, I can’t thank you enough for these.

Muskoka Cousins: Lifestyle Photography on Lake Vernon

I have a confession that I completely love family sessions in Muskoka!   Last month, I met up with Chantal and Leyla with their cousins for a great cottage family get together.  Although we started out on one of the hottest days of the year; the kids had so much fun playing on land and then they all raced down to cool off in the lake.

Since Leyla recently celebrated her first birthday, Chantal thought it would be fantastic to arrange a family shoot on Lake Vernon and little did we realize that  we are cottage neighbours (well, about 30km of neighbourly terrain!).  So it was great and incredibly easy for me to pop in one weekend to capture the fun.

From the playground to trampoline, and jumps in the lake — their Muskoka morning ended with a mid-day nap!

Such a good.good.morning.

Thank you so much Chantal for having me.  It’s always a huge pleasure to photograph little Leyla and meet her sweet cousins.

A Style Me Pretty Feature: Editorial Bridal Shower

Last week on my birthday, a lovely email from the ladies at SMP showed up in my mailbox.   I gasped when I opened it and today they featured our simple, yet beautiful DIY Toronto Coffee Shop Inspired Bridal Shower!  What a great birthday gift!

A huge thank you and hug to our amazing creative team; Caitlin, Lisa, Roxanne, Heather, Tracy and Virginia in Pennsylvania.  When collective brainstorming for this editorial shoot, we wanted to create something simple and classic for brides looking for a relaxed yet stylish coffee shop inspired bridal shower.  Tracy and Kirk at The Bandit Coffee Group were so gracious for hosting our editorial shoot and opening the shop, extra early on Saturday morning.  If you’re interested in booking a space for your intimate event in Toronto, you simply must contact them!

More photos of this creative shoot to be posted soon, but in the mean time I’ll let the awesome ladies over at SMP show this off more on their site {here!}.

Thank you again Style Me Pretty!  I hope your readers enjoy this inspiration!
